What Is Aglanta?
Your digital food hub for all things urban agriculture from the City of Atlanta’s collective One Atlanta Office that includes Resilience and Sustainability. AgLanta.org serves as a portal to learn, share, and celebrate ways we can collectively cultivate the urban ag community in Atlanta. Keep going and growing! #AgLanta
The event is being held in Atlanta, which prides itself as a ‘Smart City’ and by presenting conferences on Urban Agriculture and Vertical Farming, it is proving to be just that. Dates are April 14-15, 2019.
The conference begins with a Tour Day, where several different all-day experiences are offered to attendees. Topics include “Urban Agriculture in Communities” and “Distribution and Operations” – which sounds fascinating:
Get a behind the scenes look on how food moves throughout a city. Check out how distributors procure, store, and ship out food. See how food kits delivery companies manage the entire process from farm to box and support refugee communities along the way. Figure out what goes into the relationship between farms and wholesalers as they sell their crops.
There are five tracks to choose from.
The second day of the conference consists of several panel presentations and exhibitions. The panels cover how Agricultural Data can improve urban agriculture opportunities, strategies that have helped startups get product/market fit, reaching the next generation of farmers, and many many more related subjects. Visit the Aglanta website to get all the details and purchase tickets for one or both days.
Note all images, video and information about the conference come from the Aglanta 2019 website. Although we will be attending, we are not affiliated with the conference or its sponsors but are advertising it on our website to let you know about this important event.
